Ahmedabad on Sunday was the second hottest place in Gujarat with a maximum of 41 Degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in the city was reported 0.7 Degree Celsius more than the normal temperature while, the minimum temperature was reported to be 29 Degrees Celsius, which is 1.3 degrees higher than the normal minimum temperature in the city.
Notably, only four cities in Gujarat reported a maximum temperature of more than 40 Degrees Celsius on Sunday. With a maximum of 41.5 Degrees Celsius temperature, Surendranagar was the hottest place in the state followed by Ahmedabad at 41 Degree Celsius maximum temperature. Ahmedabad was followed by Bhavnagar with a maximum temperature of 40.8 Degrees Celsius and Gandhinagar at 40.2 Degrees Celsius, stated Indian Meteorological Department in its statement.
The weather forecasting department further stated that there are no large changes expected in the maximum temperature during the coming four to five days.
Moreover, the onset of the southwest monsoon in Kerala normally arrives on June 1 but the state already received the monsoon rain on Sunday, three days before the scheduled/normal date. With this, the citizens of Gujarat are now hopeful of receiving an early monsoon in the state and getting a respite from high summer temperatures.
