A youth from Ahmedabad has been found dead in London.
Identified as Kush Patel, a resident of Naroda area in Ahmedabad, the boy was a student of business management in a college under London University.
He had gone to the UK capital on a student’s visa nine months ago, and had gone missing since August 10. Police suspect it is a case of suicide.
Kush’s friends had lodged a missing complaint with the Wembley Police in London. According to the CCTV footage and the last location of his phone, he was near London bridge. His body was later found near London bridge after some ten days. Police confirmed it was Kush Patel’s body after conducting a DNA test.
Kush was reportedly facing several issues since his stay. The college he was studying in had asked him to leave due to non-payment of fees. The issue was later sorted out by his family back in India through an education loan. Kush had then faced the issue of lack of work permit. His family had hired a consultant and made payment, but somehow the issue of work permit couldn’t be sorted out. Kush’s visa was to expire soon. The reason of his suspected suicide is believed financial and career related stress.
Kush would remain in regular touch with his friends and family over phone calls. On August 10 he last spoke to a friend and then went incommunicado. Kush had in his last phone call told his friend that he had booked a ticket to India for August 20.
His family contacted his friends in London who went to his Kush’s residence but couldn’t find him. They eventually lodged a complaint with the police, as they couldn’t locate Kush at any possible place. Police had spoken to Kush’s family over a phone call later.
