As work progresses, phase one route of the metro rail service in Ahmedabad city will be started from the month of August. The metro will be made operational from Shahpur Darwaza to Kankaria route in the city in its first phase. It shall reach Shahpur to Kankaria in a span of mere 7 minutes. The metro work which has been going on in full swing for a long time, finally comes to an end. It shall hopefully end the waiting period of the citizens of Ahmedabad.
In 2016, The Metro Train Project was done by Shri Ganesh. Up till now, a total of Rs 81.69 crore have been spent for land availability of the Metro. It is known that metro trains will be run on the 40 km route in Phase -I of the project. Phase-l of the metro also includes 20.91 km from Vastral to Thaltej village of Ahmedabad and 19.12 km from APMC to Motera in Vasna.
It is vital to note that the government is trying to gift the citizens of Ahmedabad, a huge present in the form of the metro before the Gujarat Assembly elections. It is only a part of that, that another route of metro train will be started by August. A trial run of the train was recently conducted near Gandhi bridge.
As the trial was successful, another metro train route may be started upto Thaltej.
