Not everyone knows about the singing diva Lata Mangeshkar’s appearance in a pharmaceutical ad in over seven decades of her career.
One of the most celebrated celebrities of the country, Lata Mangeshkar, has never appeared in any advertisements in the past seven decades of her career.
In the 1990s, she acted for Glycodin cough syrup by Alembic Pharmaceutical. The pharma giant had called Lata Mangeshkar as it was a commercial related to soothing and clear voice.
“In her entire career, Lataji has rendered her melodious voice only for our product Glycodin’s advertisement. ” said Malika Amin, Whole Time Director. Alembic Group.
Shot by film director Govind Nihalani, the advertisement was created to celebrate 60 years of Lata didi, born in 1929. The pharmaceutical firm has made an artwork about Lataji’s appearance in their commercial and has kept it on display in their studio. Glycodin went on to become a popular syrup later.
