A number of Delhi-based content creators have taken to social media to pay tribute to the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away on February 6.

“I am singing a couple of lines of Aapki nazron ne samjha, which my mom used to sing. I grew up listening, learning and singing this song. Lataji is still India’s nightingale; this is my tribute to her. I will always cherish her achievements, dignity and remember her forever. Om Shanti,” posted Shefali Saxena, an independent artiste and Instagram user.

Nishchay Verma, a content creator, chose the iconic Ek pyaar ka nagma hai as his tribute to Mangeshkar. The 23-year old creator started a session on his social media account urging viewers to share their favourite songs of Lataji. “Whenever I feel low, I listen to this song. I had always wanted to meet Lataji, but that wish will now be unfulfilled, forever”, posted Verma.

Anshuman Sharma, a MBBS student by day and pianist by night, played Ajeeb daastaan hai yeh on his piano as his very own tribute. “Lataji taught me to appreciate the art; this song of her makes me accept the bitter truth of life that one should always live life to the fullest,” posted the 20-year-old.

“Singing a few songs of Lataji that have touched my heart. Lataji was the nightingale of India, someone who touched innumerable souls through her music. You will always be remembered in our hearts,” posted 22-year-old Radhika Lal
