In a bid to recover pending property tax dues, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) conducted a massive sealing operation on Friday, sealing a total of 7,849 properties across various riverfront areas. This extensive drive is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to enforce property tax compliance.
The West Zone saw the highest number of properties sealed, with 5,654 properties affected. This move led to the collection of ₹2.66 crore in pending taxes.
Several prominent locations were targeted, including Vasna Ward, consisting of Mangal Tirth Tower, Aashirvad Complex and Poojan Apartment, as well as Fairdeal House and Om Center in Manekbaug Society, Ambawadi.
Other key areas that saw properties sealed include Navrangpura, Mithakhali, Stadium Road, Narayanpura and Akhbarnagar Road.
In the South-West Zone, a total of 547 commercial properties were sealed in areas like Jivraj Park, Sarkhej Road, Vishala Circle and Corporate Road. This resulted in the recovery of ₹96.18 lakh in pending property taxes.
Meanwhile, in the North-West Zone, AMC sealed 1618 properties, bringing in ₹1.49 crore in tax collection. Key locations in this zone included Arjun Ashram, Ghatlodia Village, Satadhar Society, Chanakyapuri, Bopal, Sola, Iskcon and Thaltej.
The large-scale sealing drive highlights AMC’s determination to ensure compliance with property tax regulations and recover dues that have been pending for some time. The corporation has assured citizens that such actions will continue until property tax compliance is fully achieved across the city.
