The Amreli man, Mahesh Rathod, 47, is shattered in pieces as the legend succumbed to death early on Sunday. Lataji’s caretaker and assistant for the past 27 years, is a native of Morangi village, Amreli.
The man was inconsolable, broken into bits and pieces. While the whole country mourned this loss, Rathod had shared a whole 27 years of bond. They shared a strong bond as she used to tie him Rakhi and had considered him brother since 2001. The star also named his children – Gayatri, Rajrajeshwari, Shraddha and Rushikesh. She had also named a calf their cow gave birth to – Saburi.
He was the only assistant she ever had who served her for 27 years. He shared the news with a close friend that he was heartbroken and felt lonely over this loss.
