Arvind Kejriwal Accuses BJP Of Threatening AAP MLAs, Calls Party Meeting

| Updated: August 24, 2022 18:25

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday accused BJP of offering bribes and threatening AAP MLAs prior to Gujarat Elections 2022. He said that some of his MLAs have approached him alleging that they have been threatened and offered bribes to break the party. He has called for AAP’s political affairs committee meeting to take stock of the situation.

“Some MLAs have approached me and told me that they have been threatened, offered bribes to break the party. This is a very serious matter.” Kejriwal said. MLAs have been offered Rs 20 crore each if they join the party and Rs 25 crore if they bring other MLAs along with them.

On his recent visit to Gujarat, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that BJP offered him to join their party and revoke all CBI and ED cases against him. “They even vouched to make me Delhi Chief Minister candidate if I join their party, but I didn’t. I’m a Rajput and my aspiration is not become Delhi’s CM but to provide quality education to Indian students. Arvind Kejriwal is my political guru and I will always support him.”

“They failed to break me, so now they have started a conspiracy to break other AAP MLAs by offering them Rs 20 crore and threatening them with raids.” adds Sisodia.

AAP’s national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said the legislators- Ajay Dutt, Sanjeev Jha, Somnath Bharati and Kuldeep- have been approached by leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with whom they have “friendly relations”.
