Arvind Kejriwal On Three- Day Gujarat Visit From Nov 20

| Updated: November 20, 2022 10:34

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal will be in Gujarat, campaigning for his party on November 20, 21, and 22.

Some of the highlights of his programme include his proposed roadshow at Halol at 4:00 PM on November 20. There is a roadshow planned by AAP in Amreli the next day, 21st November at 5:00 pm. Congress had won 5 out of all the 5 assembly seats in Amreli in the 2017 assembly elections. For AAP, which is poised to eat away Congress votes, Amreli presents a great opportunity.

Kejriwal will address a public meeting at Khambhaliya on November 22 at 2:00 PM. AAP’s Chief Ministerial face Isudan Gadhvi is pitted against Congress veteran Vikram Madam and BJP’s Mulu Bera. Both coming from electorally strong Ahir communities, AAP will need extra efforts.

AAP is putting much of its efforts into Surat. Arvind Kejriwal will participate in a road show in Surat at 5:00 pm. AAP tasted its first electoral success in form of Municipal elections in Surat. The Party’s Gujarat unit president, Gopal Italia is contesting from the Katargam constituency in Surat. Also, other important leaders like Manoj Sorathia also contest from various Surat city and district constituencies. Kejriwal will address a public meeting in Surat at 9:00 pm.

Four rallies are scheduled for PM Modi in the districts of Bhavnagar, Amreli, and Junagadh. This is his second visit to his home state after the assembly poll schedule was announced.

Rahul Gandhi, busy with his Bharat Jodo Yatra, will also be on a day’s tour in Gujarat. The impressive 3,750-km foot march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir started on September 7 and has entered Madhya Pradesh. Rahul Gandhi will address a public rally in Rajkot.

In 2017, the BJP was contained below 100 seats for the first time since its rise started in 1995. Congress had won 77 of the state’s 182 seats. This time, Kejriwal’s AAP is able to turn the attention toward them by focusing on the urban poor and the middle classes by promising to replicate its work in Delhi and Punjab in Gujarat.
