With the ongoing investigation within Bollywood regarding drugs, Maharastra Minister Nawab Malik has questioned if the cases of celebrities possessing two-three grams of narcotics were under the radar to divert investigations from the drug seizes in Gujarat.
He said that the Gujarat drug connection needs to be exposed and the people who are involved in it need to be brought to justice.
“With another seize of drug consignment at Dwarka in Gujarat a few days ago, it has been established that drugs consignments come to Gujarat via sea route and are distributed in the country,” Malik said.
He further said that during the investigation of the drug case involving Aryan Khan, some of the names were cropped up and they were operating from Gujarat. He said that they were staying in five-star hotels and appeared to be “close confidant” of the Cabinet Minister Kiritsinh Rana.

“Two major drug hauls have been seized from Gujarat, which creates a suspicion that a racket is active in the state. Central agencies like National Investigation Agency and NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) should probe these cases thoroughly to check any such racket,” Malik said.
This comes after, 17 kilograms of heroin and methamphetamine with a total worth of Rs 88.25 crores were seized in Gujarat from a vegetable vendor from Maharashtra. Around 47 similar packets were later recovered from Salaya, a coastal town in Gujarat’s district Dwarka.
Meanwhile, in September this year, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized around 3000 kgs of heroin worth around Rs 21000 crores from Mundra port in Gujarat. The case is currently being investigated by the National Investigation Agency.
