Asia Cup 2022: India Set To Square Off Against Pakistan Without Its Pacer Jasprit Bumrah

The much-awaited Asia cup 2022 match between the two great arch-rivals India and Pakistan is already soaring the heat up and ready to accelerate the excitement of its audience worldwide.

Scheduled to be played around 7.30 on Sunday evening, August 28, 2022 at the famous Dubai International Cricket Stadium based in UAE, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is betting on to generate both the heat and the revenue altogether.

The intense match between two old competitors have always drawn big investments whenever they have come across each other in the past. Also, this T20 edition of Asia Cup could become a marker for how the international game could be run in the future between the players across the globe.

“These things have always been there. We have been playing Pakistan for so long. We have always had younger guys in the team who are now doing the same,” said Rohit Sharma, the current India cricket captain.

While India will be short of their crucial pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, Pakistan will also miss pacer Shaheen Afridi in this tournament, which is going to attract a huge crowd worldwide.

“We speak to every opposition. It’s a normal thing. We talk about different topics besides cricket. India-Pakistan match is enjoyed by people across the globe. The main thing is that as a team and player, we enjoy the day to play better cricket,” asserted Babar Azam, the Captain of Pakistan cricket team.

Moreover, India’s 10 wicket defeat to Pakistan in the last T20 World Cup held in November, 2021, their first loss to arch-rival in World cup history, has been safely locked in the wardrobe, for now.

Giving a curt response in his reaction, Babar replied, “The win does give us some confidence. But that’s in the past. There is no point thinking about it. The conditions have changed, and a lot of things are different now. It’s (overall) a new game.”

The Asia cup is a men’s One Day International and T20 International cricket tournament, established in 1983, when the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was founded as a measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries.

Talking about their placement group-wise, both India and Pakistan are part of Group A in Asia Cup 2022, whereas Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh have occupied their positions in Group B. In the tournament’s opening game, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will square off against each other. One more qualifier team will join Group A later.
