Bihar’s chief minister Nitish Kumar has endorsed deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav’s ambitious promise of providing jobs in the state. In 2022 Bihar assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader had promised he will provide 10 lakh job opportunities to the youth, if his party comes to power.
Post Nitish Kumar’s return to the grand alliance and Tejashwi’s inclusion in the government as the deputy chief minister, the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader was asked if he shall be able to deliver the promise he had undertaken during the 2020 state election campaign to which he replied that the issue had already been discussed with Bihar CM.
Nitish Kumar agreed with his deputy’s statement and said “It is right. We are making efforts and we will try our best…What he has said is right. All efforts will be made for it.”
Kumar also commented upon the objections on Yadav’s upgraded security cover and said they were “nonsense”. The RJD leader’s security cover was upgraded to Z+ after recommendations from the security committee.
“Why should they object to it? He is the Deputy CM. Why should he not get it? They speak nonsense, it is all useless,” he said.
The leader was further asked if he feared non cooperation from the Centre, in terms of financial help, after his exit from the NDA. To this, the 71 year old replied that
“There are norms with regard to sharing of revenue between the Centre and the state. If these norms are betrayed, those doing so will stand exposed and suffer consequences.”
