Central Government To Allot 6 Lakh Doses Of Vaccine To Gujarat

The new Omicron variant XBB.1.5 has raised fears of a fresh wave of illness, and the Gujarat government is not taking chances. Putting in place preventive measures, it approached the central government for precautionary vaccines.

The central government has responded by allocating 6 lakh vaccine doses to the state. These include 5 lakh Covishield doses and 1 lakh Covaxin doses.

Recently, the health minister announced a mock-drill across government-run hospitals to assess the state’s Covid preparedness.

Thirty-six active Covid cases have been recorded in the state, but the patients are reported to be stable. As many as 4,600 people have taken the vaccine in the last 24 hours.

Gujarat has a Covid recovery rate of 99.13%.
