Bhupendra Patel, CM of Gujarat, attended the closing ceremony of the 16th edition of the GIHED Property Show on Sunday evening.
The three-day show ended with an overwhelming response from developers and investors, drawing at least 80,000 visitors. As many as 250 projects were featured at the show.
During their discussions with the chief minister, developers stressed the need to accelerate CGDCR, revenue department, RERA and environmental clearances for real estate projects.
The chief minister assured them that he was ready to do the needful and asked the developers how it could be achieved according to them.
He also added that the demand for a price index in real estate is valid, and he will convey it to the Centre. The event was also attended by MoS urban development and urban housing Vinod Moradiya and Revenue minister Rajendra Trivedi.
Tejas Joshi, president CREDAI-Ahmedabad GIHED said they do not want any incentives and have just requested the CM to set up a committee to fast track various approvals.
Joshi also added that faster clearances would improve development speed in Ahmedabad and other cities.
Jaxay Shah, past chairman of CREDAI, said real estate investment has emerged as social security in the wake of the tension triggered by the pandemic.
