CM Patel Joins LD Engineering College For 75th Anniversary Celebrations

Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, became a part of the 75th-anniversary celebrations of LD Engineering College, Ahmedabad. From 2022, LD Engineering College shall have a new Robotic Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning Department. Furthermore, Gujarat Education Minister Jitu Vaghani announced the revival of the rupees ten crore grant under the guidance of CM Patel.

LD College Of Engineering is the oldest engineering institute in Ahmedabad, surrounded by organizations like IIM, ISRO, and CEPT. Textile Magnate Kasturbhai Lalbhai laid its foundation with ₹25 Lakhs and 31.2 hectares land in 1948. Hence, the institute’s name is Lalbhai Dalpatbhai College of Engineering(LDCE). Adjacent to the Gujarat University Campus, the LDCE also comes under Gujarat Technological University. Moreover, the Department of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat, takes care of the administration.

LDCE started with three courses in the Mechanical, Civil, and Electrical branches with 35 students each. Its initial affiliation was with Bombay University. Now, the institute has undergraduate and post-graduate courses in 14 departments and a strength of 6,000 students.
