The Gujarat government has started preparations for the forthcoming assembly session going to surat from September 13. According to the agenda unveiled for the same, the BJP-led state government is slated to present the Common University Act bill, aimed at implementing stricter regulations for private universities, and a proposal advocating a 27% reservation for OBCs in civic bodies. Additionally, a GST amendment geared toward enhancing tax collection will also be introduced in the assembly this session.
Apart from these crucial bills, the government’s agenda also include legislation pertaining to the establishment of a children’s university, regulations concerning the Gujarat electricity sector, measures related to the preservation of the Pavagadh-Champaner heritage site, and reforms targeting the Agriculture University.
Notably, this assembly session will be conducted digitally. To facilitate a paperless session, Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have been equipped with tablets, and special training sessions have been initiated to prepare them for this upcoming digital session.
