Gujarat Congress spokesperson Dr. Manish Doshi on Tuesday called a press conference to allege “irregularities and unethical practices” at the Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU).
“PDEU has forged data in their submission to the National and regional ranking and accreditation councils like NIRF, AICTE and expert committees for grant of a ‘Centre of Excellence’ status and to obtain an ISO certificate.” Doshi alleged.
He said that the institute was guilty of holding “unethical practices”, including counting administrative staff as assistant professors and research students as faculty before the accreditation councils to push for a better ranking.
Doshi brought up the ‘ventilator invention scandal’, wherein the Director General had announced to leading dailies that the institute has invented a ventilator, while the same product was available on platforms like IndiaMART.com
Dr. Manish Doshi said he has written a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, the Gujarat Chief Minister and institutes like NIRF, AICTE to investigate the “widespread irregularities” at the university.
Irregularities in appointment was another allegation levelled against the institute by the spokesperson Dr Manish Doshi of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, who told the press that PDEU authorities had appointed a pharmaceutical researcher, despite the institute not offering any courses in pharmacy, toxicology or animal husbandry.
