Six members of a Dalit family were allegedly attacked by a group of 20 people (most of them reportedly Hindus belonging to upper-caste or OBC) on October 26 when they entered a Ram temple in the Bhachau taluka of Kutch, Gujarat. Congress MLA of Dasada Constituency Naushad Solanki reached Bhuj and met the Dalit family who is admitted at the GK General Hospital. He took to Twitter to condemn the attack at the Ner Village of Bhachau. The video showed the victims of the attack lying on the ground and bleeding. In the tweet, he informed that he will be meeting the victims and the police to ensure that the family gets justice and the people who attacked them are punished.

The family claims that they had entered a Ram temple in Bhachau taluka of Kutch, Gujarat. So far, the Gujarat police has arrested five people connected to the case. Meanwhile, the state government has announced a total Rs 21 lakh will be paid to the victims as assistance.
State Minister for Social Justice, Pradeep Parmar said that the government led by Bhupendra Patel is responsible to maintain social harmony.
After the attack, all the victims were rushed to Bhuj’s Civil Hospital. Two FIRs have been filed in the case.
The incident has reverberated across Gujarat prompting a sharp attack from MLA and Dalit leader Jignesh Mewani. Mewani slammed the BJP government and said, “The place where this incident took place, there are reserved seats for Dalits. Is this the India the BJP is talking about? Are we living in the 21st century? Don’t Dalits have the right to see God? In which India are we living?”

The incident took place on the morning of October 26, in which the accused fatally attacked the victims, inflicting serious injuries. All six of them were rushed to Bhuj’s Civil hospital. Two FIRs were filed in the case and over 24 hours after the incident, five accused were detained by the police. The remaining accused are still at large. The arrested accused have been identified as Kanabhai Koli (22), Naranbhai Aahir (36), Pababhai Rabari (35), Hemabhai Rabari (40) and Kanabhai S Koli (32).
Taking cognizance of his complaint, two FIRs were lodged against 20 accused identified as Kana Ahir, Jeeva Ahir, Vela Ahir, Kesra Rabari, Arjan Rabari, Dinesh Balasara, Rajesh Balasara, Rana Balasara, Dinesh Ramji Balasara, Naya Ahir, Kana Koli, Bhanji Suthar, Rajesh Maraj, Dinesh Maraj, Paba Rabari, Chauda Koli, Sava Koli, Momaya Koli, Hema Rabari and Navgan Rabari under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (causing hurt), 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 452 (house trespassing for causing hurt), 120b (criminal conspiracy), 506 (criminal intimidation), 294b (obscenity), and sections of rioting and those applicable in the scheduled caste and scheduled tribe (prevention of atrocities) Act.
