| Updated: May 14, 2022 16:55

The Congress party on Saturday during the second day of Navsankalp Shivir, Udaipur, decided to launch a Jan Jagran Abhiyan 2.0, the second phase of the mass contact programme to take on the policies of the government as well as rising inflation and unemployment in the country. “Sonia Ji and Rahul Ji are very keen about hitting Modi’s governance by targeting socio-economic and political policy governance”, AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal told VOI.

Currently, India’s retail inflation rose to an 8-year high of 7.79% in April, the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder costs around Rs. 1000, prices of basic commodities are rising and the rupee hits an all-time low of 77.42 against the dollar.
Last year, from November 14 to November 29, the Congress launched this mass agitation programme – ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’  to highlight various issues, including inflation, price rise, recession, unemployment rate and farm distress.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi presided over the meeting of AICC general secretaries, PCC presidents and legislature party leaders. She discussed the party’s action plan for the second phase of the mass contact programme to take on the policies of the government as well as rising inflation and unemployment in the country.
Top Congress leaders from across the country are here for a three-day brainstorming conclave to decide on the party’s strategy on key issues and revamp the organisation
