As many as 59,495 students of different courses received degrees on the 11th convocation ceremony of Gujarat Technological University. Of these, 144 students and a start up were awarded gold medals.
The Governor of Gujarat, Mr Acharya Devvrat wished the graduating students, the very best and urged them to work for the welfare of the nation.
The Governor said that convocation has a unique significance in Indian culture. At the centre of education, there is the spirit of universal welfare. The Governor also requested the students to pay back the debt they owe to their parents and ‘ Gurus’ ( teachers). He said that the graduating youth completes one chapter of life and enter the field of work. They should fulfill their responsibilities honestly and work to serve the nation.
Minister Kuberbhai Dedore said that today Gujarat is leading in the field of innovation in the country. He added that Gujarat Technological University has set an excellent example in the field of technology but also in the field of innovation. “Even during the corona period, GTU students have received a package of up to Rs.10 lakh which is a matter of pride for all of us.” He also expressed confidence that GTU is committed to the development of the society and will continue to do so.
In keeping with the GTU tradition, the best startup was also honoured with gold medals this year for prompting innovative ventures.
The Chancellor Dr. Naveen Seethe presented the annual report of GTU.
On the occasion, the Front Secretary of the Education Department, Mr S.J. Hedaar, the Managing Director of Zydus Cadila, Mr Pankaj bhai Patel, members of Board of Governance and Academic Council, Dean and Associate Dean were also present as special guests.
