Covid Enters Ahmedabad NID Campus: 24 Students Test Positive

There has been an upsurge in coronavirus cases in Gujarat. On Sunday, 24 students of the NID, Ahmedabad, tested covid positive. Due to this, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has gone into panic mode.

Currently, the AMC declared the campus a micro-containment zone. National Institute of Design students of the Paldi campus, Ahmedabad, created a massive stampede because of the break-out of coronavirus in the institute. The COVID-positive students are currently isolated.

There are a few abroad students and a few local ones amongst the students who tested positive. Meanwhile, the AMC is trying to inquire about the traveling history of the abroad and local students to prevent further cases. The third wave of coronavirus hit the Gujarat state in January.

Since then, Ahmedabad has recorded the highest number of cases (9958) on January 20. However, coronavirus cases declined after that. For the past two days, Ahmedabad city has seen an increase in COVID cases.

On Saturday, Ahmedabad reported 19 cases. In the last 24 hours, the national capital Delhi witnessed 1407 new cases and 2 COVID-19 deaths. Delhi has seen a decline in coronavirus by 4.72%. Subsequently, the active cases in Delhi have reached 5,955.
