| Updated: December 23, 2022 10:09

The health department of the Gujarat government has started preparations regarding the increasing cases of Corona in other countries of the world. 80 beds have been prepared for corona patients in Asia’s largest civil hospital. Preparations have also been started for training the hospital staff and health workers in the coming days.

Preparations have been initiated by the administration to convert the 1200-bed hospital into a Covid hospital at any moment in Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital. In addition to the oxygen tank, instructions are given to prepare a bi-pap and a bed containing oxygen. Nodal officers have been instructed to prepare 600 beds to treat patients with less effect of Corona in case of lack of oxygen, along with 7450 ventilators of civil hospitals.

In Vadodara, the first case was reported and in Ahmedabad the second. A 34-year-old man returned from China who tested positive for Corona in Bhavnagar. The rapid test result for the man was positive, and he was quarantined at home. A report detailing the man’s positive traits was also forwarded to Gandhinagar for the BF.7 genome sequence. It is important to note that a 34-year-old man arrived in Bhavnagar from China two days ago.

The Gujarat government has also become active due to the threat of coronavirus all over the world including in China. Hospitals of the state are getting prepped amid the fear of corona spread. A covid-dedicated ward has already been made operational in Sola Civil Hospital. At present, a 56-bed covid ward has been prepared in the primary phase. Out of which 20 beds each for suspected and positive patients while 16 ICU beds have been made available. Corona infection is currently under control. However, as a precautionary measure, the administration has stocked essential medicines in addition to the Covid ward. So the hospital staff have been ordered to stand by.

Also in Vadodara, a 10-bed Covid ward has been made operational at GMERS Hospital at Gotri. So, a 70 to the 100-bed covid ward will be operational in the coming days. Apart from this, 10 oxygen plants have been set up at Gotri Hospitals. Out of which eight plants are functioning. While two plants are under maintenance. So now the health department has also started testing and giving booster doses of Kovid in Gotri Hospital and Sayaji Hospital.

Commissioner of Bhavnagar Municipality V.N. Upadhyay and Civil Surgeon Brahmabhat reached the Civil Hospital today. He also visited the oxygen plant set up in the Civil Hospital. Bhavnagar Civil has an oxygen plant producing 2 thousand litres of oxygen per minute. So the number of daily corona testing has been increased from 500 to 1000. So, amid the fear of corona infection, negligence has come to light in Banaskantha district. The largest oxygen plant in Chappi of Vadgam taluka was found to be closed. A meeting of the health department and specialist doctors were called in the presence of deputy commissioner Ashish Nayak in the Rander area of Surat municipality. Four 50-50 bed hospitals have been started in Adajan, Pal, Vesu and Pandesara. So to make available oxygen beds, necessary medicine and quantity of injections in the hospital.
