Dr Anahita Pandole, a top Mumbai gynaecologist and wife of Cyrus Mistry’s childhood friend Darius Pandole, Managing Director and CEO of JM Financial Private Equity was driving Silver Mercedes which met with a fatal accident yesterday.
Darius and Cyrus have known each other from childhood, having studied together at the Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai.
The accident also claimed the life of Jehangir Pandole, Director, Global Strategy Group at KPMG’s London office in the United Kingdom. Jehangir was the younger brother of Darius. He was sitting in the back with Cyrus Mistry.
Dr Anahita Pandole, driving and Darius Pandole who was seated in the front are seriously injured with multiple fractures. Dr Mehli Nazir, a renowned surgeon at Breach Candy had also rushed to Vapi.
A consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr Anahita Pandole is associated with the Bombay Parsi Panchyet Fertility Project. She is also a campaigner against illegal hoardings.
The Mistry and Pandole family have long been close to each other.
