In a shocking case reminiscent of Taliban-type punishment, a group of people stripped a 12-year-old boy, tied him to a pole and thrashed him brutally in union territory of Daman. His crime? An allegation of theft.
A video of the incident in Daman’s Bamanpuja village that has gone viral shows a policeman standing mute witness to people roughing up the kid, who was crying helplessly and seeking mercy.
Some people are also seen forcing him to the ground with their legs, while the others punched him and kicked him.
Though a policeman standing there didn’t prevent the torture, an offence was eventually lodged at the Moti Daman Police Station.
According to police officials there, strict action would be taken against all those involved in the incident
