BTS members ushered out of Dulles Airport via a special exit

K-Pop group BTS are in Washington!! The touchdown, late Sunday night, was at the Dulles International Airport (Washington D.C.) where dozens of fans waited to welcome them on what will be their first-ever visit to the White House on Tuesday. The septet has been invited to the White House to mark Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders Heritage Month (AANHPI Heritage Month, May).

The six were, however, ushered out of the airport via a special exit by airport authorities due to safety concerns. Jungkook, reportedly flew in on Saturday.

Oval Office is the chosen venue for the historic meet, which will be a closed-door event, as confirmed by the White House Press Assistant. BTS will meet POTUS Biden on June 1 at 12:30 am IST (May 31, 3 pm EST). The statement issued by the White House also noted that the discussion will touch upon Asian inclusion and representation, and ways to address anti-Asian hate crimes and discrimination which have become more prominent issues in recent years.

The US has seen a sharp increase in hate crimes targeting Asian American communities since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic two years ago.

Biden has repeatedly declared that “hate can have no safe harbor in America.” He has also signed into law the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act in May 2021, which allowed federal law enforcement to identify, investigate and report hate crimes.

The group, comprising RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook — has been involved with various initiatives promoting hope and diversity. It may be noteworthy that BTS has twice addressed the United Nations. In 2018 and 2021, the global sensation furthered the cause of climate change awareness and COVID-19 vaccination.

Meanwhile, ARMY was left surprised and a wee bit shocked when Jungkook deleted all his Instagram posts. The K-pop star gave no warning or indication of any sort. The desi ARMY woke up Tuesday to find it was all gone!

Now this comes just hours before the Korean band’s White House visit. The band members have been sharing updates from their visit, however, in a surprising move, Jungkook trashed all his social media posts sending ARMY into tizzy. Worried fans have reached out to V and J-Hope to find out the why the K-Pop star deleted all his posts.

BTS, which stands for Beyond the Scene, are best known for chartbuster tracks “My “Universe,” “DNA,” “Save Me,” “Life Goes On” and “Butter.”
