| Updated: July 9, 2021 14:12

Body of a young lady around 35-years old was found inside a black Sintex water tank atop a garment factory in Khokhra, Ahmedabad, on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred inside Mohan Estate Garment factory, when a young boy working in the factory complained for foul smell coming from the terrace. He went to the terrace to check the source of the smell. On nearing the water tank he found a knife next to the tank and a hand was seen popping out of the tank.

Scared, he rushed down to call his owner and a few people from around the factory called the Kokhra police station. PI YS Gamit along with his team and a team of fire personnel reached the spot and moved the crowd away.

The tank had to be cut open by the fire personnel using a control machine, which is ideally used to fell trees. The body, on first-call-basis and the stench, is said to be around three days old.The body is still unidentified and owner of Mohan Estate Garment Company claimed that he has never hired a woman as an employee.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) zone- 5 Achal Tyagi said the owner of factory Ankit Patel, who had rented the factory to one Shabbir- had informed the police control room about the incident.

“It is cold blooded murder but the body is still unidentified. There are no CCTV cameras in the vicinity. We are probing the case from all angles including that of a love affair. We have sent the blood stained knife for forensic examination to match the blood on the knife with the deceased’s blood samples. We have formed a team to see if the woman is local or not”, added DCP Tyagi.
