| Updated: September 12, 2022 08:28

Police Sub Inspector Vasava presently attached with the Okha Marine Police Station of Devbhoomi Dwarka district has been suspended following an inquiry by the District Police Chief Nitesh Pandey.

As such, uniformed officers are bound by a layer more than the ordinary bond of discipline. As part of their terms of employment, uniformed officers are also prohibited from forming a union.

PSI Vasava was in the news recently when he expressed the anguish prevalent among police employees and spoken in a hushed tone behind the walls, in front of the media. A video containing harsh words amounting to crossing the established etiquette being spoken by the PSI went viral on social media.

In the video, PSI Vasava was heard accusing the IPS officers and political leaders of the deficiencies in the grade pay and financial package announced by the government.

Though he was speaking for a general cause concerning all the employees, the manner in which the expression was framed, has landed PSI Vasava in suspension. The higher officials has termed it a breach of the code of conduct.
