Economy Regained What Was Lost To Covid: Survey

| Updated: January 31, 2023 18:01

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey 2022–23 in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.

According to the Economic Survey, the economy has nearly recovered what was lost, restarted what had stalled, and re-energized what had slowed during the pandemic.

India is the third-largest economy in the world in PPP (purchasing power parity) terms, the fifth-largest in terms of the exchange rate, and will remain the fastest-growing major economy in the world, says the pre-Budget Economic Survey.

According to the economic document, India’s economy will grow 6.5 per cent in 2023-24, compared to 7 per cent in the current fiscal year and 8.7 per cent in 2021-22.
