External Affairs Minister and Rajya Sabha MP from Gujarat, S Jaishankar, inaugurated the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) Skill Centre in Ekta Nagar during his visit to the state. The minister expressed his delight at the inauguration on social media platform X, highlighting the importance of the centre in providing skilled human resources for the growing tourism industry in the region.
“The Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar has emerged as a major tourist destination, with steadily growing footfalls. The construction of tourist facilities, including hotels, is a natural consequence. Ensuring the skilled human resources for such facilities is now the task,” Jaishankar said. He also interacted with the first batches selected for front office and F&B training at the centre.
Jaishankar, who arrived in Vadodara on Sunday night, is visiting the Narmada District today. He will also be part of the inauguration ceremony for the lab and smart class at Children’s Home, Girl’s Campus in Rajpipla. Additionally, the External Affairs Minister will flag off new ambulances at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Lachharas later in the day.
The minister is expected to depart from Vadodara on January 30 around 7 am. His visit underscores the Modi Government’s promotion of tourism and the creation of new opportunities for the youth in the region.
