As if the gruesome reports of a murder of a 27-year-old woman by her live-in partner in Delhi weren’t enough, another episode of a barbaric act has shocked Ahmedabad.
Kano Rajput (33), who lived with his family in Sorai Nagar, Vasna, was killed by his friends for failing to return Rs 500. That such a paltry amount should be reason enough to take a life indicates the rapidly deteriorating law and order situation in the city.
Kano’s friends used a sharp weapon to stab him to death on Sunday after which they were taken into police custody. They fled the scene when people arrived.
Kano was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead.
Vasna police inspector MC Chaudhary said Budho Popat Kochra, Vijay Makwana and Ajay Makwana, who killed Kano, were arrested in the evening.
