From Deepika to Sara, Bollywood Celebs Under NCB Scanner in Drugs Case

| Updated: October 6, 2021 12:37

Aryan Khan is just the latest known name to come under the clutches of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Before him, there have been many Bollywood biggies who have been summoned and interrogated by the NCB in relation to drug probes. Bollywood actors have been under the NCB’s scanner for quite some time now. In the last few years, many actors have been questioned or detained in many drug cases and rave party raids. Here are some of the recent prominent cases involving celebrities:

Deepika Padukone

The NCB had summoned Deepika Padukone and Karishma Prakash, her manager, on September 25, 2020. They were called in when a chat between them from 2017 re-emerged where the two were discussing ‘maal’. This chat was speculated by the NCB to be drug-related. Following a cross-examination, the NCB reportedly clarified that the duo stated that they were using words like maal, weed, hash and doom as code names.

Arjun Rampal & Gabriella Demetriades

The actor was summoned by the NCB on November 13,2020, after the officials searched his house on November 10.  Gabriella Demetriades, Arjun’s girlfriend, was also questioned and grilled for two days. The actor’s driver was also arrested and questioned by NCB officials. Surprisingly, the actor was summoned again by the NCB on December 16, 2020. He gave his clarification on this matter, but the final sentence of the NCB is awaited.

Shraddha Kapoor

Kapoor was summoned by the NCB on September 26, 2020, related to a WhatsApp chat. According to the chats the actress was consuming CBD oil; this oil comes in the category of drugs. This revelation of her consumption of CBD oil happened after the detailed investigation of Rhea Chakraborty. Kapoor revealed in the interrogation that she was using the oil externally.

Rakul Preet

Preet was summoned before the NCB on September 24, 2020. In the same investigation where Rhea Chakroborty revealed Shraddha Kapoor’s name, she gave away Preet’s name as well. The actress denied consuming drugs during the interrogation; she was released later by the Bureau. Surprisingly, she was also summoned by the NCB in a drug probe related to the big stars of the South Indian industry.

Bharti Singh & Haarsh Limbachiya

Singh and her husband, Haarsh Limbachiya, were taken in for interrogation where they admitted to the consumption of ganja. This incident happened after the NCB raided Singh’s house on November 21, 2020, in connection with an investigation being carried out after Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. The team had found 86.5 grams of ganja at the time. The couple was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act in a case of alleged possession and consumption of ganja. They were later released on bail.

Sara Ali Khan

The actress was summoned by the NCB on September 26, 2020, after the officials searched her house. Reportedly she was interrogated over the alleged fact that she used to attend parties with Sushant Singh Rajput where they would consume drugs. During the investigation, the actress denied being related to any kind of drug consumption and was released.

Karan Johar

Johar also came under the clutches of the NCB when he was asked to respond to their notice by December 18, 2020. The NCB had sought details about an alleged party that took place at his home in 2019. The video of the same went viral on social media and was sent to DG Rakesh Asthana by Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
