From Moderate Rain To Cyclone; Here’s Weather Forecast For India

Cyclone Jawad is currently over West Central Bay of Bengal and is inching closer to the Odisha coast. Due to increased vertical wind shear and cooler sea surface temperature, it may weaken into a deep depression by tomorrow afternoon.

A cyclonic circulation is over Northeast Arabian Sea off South Gujarat and North Konkan coast. A trough is extending from Northeast Arabian Sea to Haryana across Gujarat and Rajasthan. Fresh Western disturbance is expected to affect the Western Himalayas by tomorrow December 5th.

During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells occurred over coastal Odisha and parts of interior Tamil Nadu. Scattered light to moderate rain occurred over South Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, interior Karnataka, parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated pockets of Marathwada, Kerala and Himachal Pradesh.

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain within a few heavy to very heavy spells may occur over coastal Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal. Light to moderate rain with one or two intense spells of rain may occur over interior parts of Odisha, parts of South India Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. Light rain is possible over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Northwest Uttar Pradesh and isolated pockets of Delhi. Strong winds 70-80 Kmph in gust 90 to 100 Kmph are possible over Odisha and West Bengal coast on December 4 and 5.
