Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has created two new posts in his office and appointed the Main Advisor and Advisor.
Retired IAS Dr. Hasmukh Adhia has been appointed as the main advisor while former ACS in the Gujarat government, SS Rathore has been appointed as advisor of the Chief Minister.
Dr. Adhia retired on 30th November 2018 after offering his services as union finance secretary and revenue secretary. He is nonexecutive chairman of the Bank of Baroda and chancellor of the Central University of Gujarat. He also serves as vice chairman of (Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute) GERMI and a board member of IIM Bengaluru.
Adhia will advise the Chief minister in finance, education, energy, investment policy, and its monitoring apart from other subjects. The State government will provide him with staff and other facilities.
S.S Rathore is an engineering service official of Gujarat who retired in 2014 as Additional Chief Secretary. He was awarded Padma Shri in 2018. He had worked as CMD of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd for five years. He introduced the Build Operate Transfer (BOT) model. He had headed the Institute of Engineers, India, and the Indian Road Congress. He is vice president of the World Federation of Engineering Organization. He is at present heading the Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation Ltd as its Managing Director since July 2019.
He will advise the CM in the domains of road and building, civil aviation, metro rail project, railways, water resources, Narmada, Kalpsar, policy monitoring, and advising. The Govt will provide him with staff and other facilities.
