Guj CM Patel Flags Off Dandi To Delhi NCC Motorcycle Rally

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel flagged off the NCC cadets competing in the 1300 km Java-Yezdi Motorcycle Rally from Dandi to Delhi as a representation of the independent India’s journey from salt to software.

As part of NCC’s 75th anniversary celebrations, the NCC Directorates of Gujarat, Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu organised a cycle rally from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi. The NCC cadets of the cycle rally arrived in Dandi, where they were joined by the cadets of the motorcycle rally from Dandi to Delhi, and these NCC youths made salt in Dandi.

Bhaskaracharya National Institute of Space Applications and Geo Informatics-Biseg in Gujarat created the NCC software. Governor Acharya Devvrat had previously presented salt and software to NCC cadets at a function held at Gandhinagar’s Raj Bhavan. Now, 30 cadets will ride their motorcycles to New Delhi with this salt and software and present it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 28th

The Chief Minister praised the patriotism of the NCC students, expressing hope that the motorcycle rally from Dandi will strengthen the spirit of unity and integrity on the way to Delhi. S J Haider, Principal Secretary Education, Major General Arvind Kapoor, Additional Director General of NCC Gujarat, and other high officials and NCC students were present on this occasion.
