While the news of a man posing as Personal Assistant of a Gujarat Minister is still afresh, now a fake Dy SP has been held in Junagadh. Police caught a man named Vineet Bansilal Dave (37) who used to extort money from people by posing as DySP with fake police identity card. The local crime branch has proceeded with the investigation by filing a case.
Vineet Dave works as a driver in the court. He pasted his photo on the policeman’s identity card. He passed himself off as DySP and so far cheated about 17 people to the tune of Rs.2.11 crores by falsely claiming to procure jobs for them in the police department.
Recently, a fake PA of a state level minister was also caught from Junagadh. Earlier, Junagadh Police had arrested a person named Rajesh Jadav posing as MLA, roaming around in a car with MLA inscribed on it. He defrauded a widow in Manavadar of Rs.18 lacs by promising to avail Rs.25 lacs assistance from the government and a job to her son, after she lost her husband during Covid pandemic.
