Gujarat ATS Arrests Accused Prior To Paper Leak Notification

| Updated: January 29, 2023 17:56

The Junior Clerk Exam paper was leaked on Sunday, and the Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) apprehended the suspect before the word got out.

They allowed 9.53 lakh aspirants to arrive at the exam centre to be confused, according to SP Sunil Joshi of ATS, who added, “we were keeping an eye on the Paper Leaking Gang and after 3-4 days we came to know about the paper leak via human intelligence, we caught the culprit on Saturday itself.”

Sources claim that the paper was leaked, that it would be slandered internally, and that the ATS was awaiting approval from the government before proceeding. In contrast, ATS SP Sunil Joshi stated that he had been aware of the incident for three to four days but had only recently detained the suspect in Vadodara.

The Panchayat Seva Selection Board’s Class 3 Junior Clerk examination was to take place on Sunday. For this exam, 7500 police officers and 70,000 exam administrators were deployed as observers. For 1181 openings, over 9.53 lakh candidates were expected to take the exam.

The exam on Sunday has been cancelled as a result of the paper leak and the lack of transparency, even though it was announced only before the exam. However, thousands of students returned from village to village after the exams were cancelled and chanted against the administration in numerous locations. The administration has set up a commission to investigate the paper leak.

Joshi stated, “Before any papers are leaked, the ATS was told to take a proactive stance and capture the suspect. In order to implement this proactive strategy, we formed our team.” The accused and previous suspects were being watched by numerous officers.

Yesterday (Saturday), it came to light that the accused were assembling students to travel to Vadodara. On the basis of that, a team was assembled, and they managed to capture him. The links in cases where there are accusers from various states are dispersed over multiple states. 15 suspects were taken into custody in Vadodara city by 3 DySP and 9 PI.
