Shrushti Sanghavi from Surat secured an AIR 3 in CA Finals while Priyank Shah from Ahmedabad bagged 10th rank in the all-India result list. A total of 5 students each from Ahmedabad and Surat branches of ICAI, got good ranks in the Top 50 AIR, in CA Final exams which were held earlier this year.
Students from Ahmedabad named, Om Akhani (AIR 16), Ruchit Vakharia (AIR 21), Dhvanil Shah (AIR 27) and Parth Lakhtariya (AIR 47) also did the State proud, while Arun Borana (AIR 32), Arham Parekh (AIR 37), Siddharth Saharia (AIR 40), and Rohit Siddha (AIR 42) from Surat, also shone being featured in the top 50.
Out of the 12,449 candidates who qualified as Chartered Accountants this year, 1200 or 9.6% are from Gujarat, and 400 or 3.2% are from Ahmedabad while 138 or 1.1% are from Surat.
Shrushti Sanghavi who came third in the AIR Ranks, just behind Meet Shah from Mumbai (AIR1) and Akshat Goyal from Jaipur (AIR2) belongs to a family of CAs. Shrusti’s father Keyur Sanghavi, paternal grandfather Ashwin Sanghavi, uncle Amish Sanghavi and even her fiance are all CAs. Shrushti happily chose CA, as, despite the line of CAs in her family, she was never pressured to take a particular profession by her family. To achieve her goal, Shrushti stayed away from social media for 6 months, she reveals.
Shrushti has cleared her class 12 with a nice score of 82% from Lourdes Convent School. Priyank on the other hand scored 91% in Class 10 board exams and surprised everyone by choosing the commerce stream. He too has a family background in the stream, with his dad working like an accountant in a factory.
Priyank who scored an AIR of 10, did his Class 12 from Saint Xavier’s Loyola High School and B.Com from Gujarat University. He reveals that he only studied from the material given by the Ahmedabad branch of ICAI.
This term, 808 students appeared in both groups out of which 132 cleared both of them, giving a pass percentage of 16.34% which is higher than the last term, December’s rate of 15.72% rate.
