Amid the fears of the Omicron variant, with many countries implementing stricter travel restrictions, the Covid-19 cases are rising in the state daily. The new variant is suspected to be spreading more easily.
Fully vaccinated woman gets tested for Omicron
A fully vaccinated woman in Mehsana tested positive for the Omicron variant. The woman has no recorded travel history. The woman has no symptoms and is stable. Gujarat has 68 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours with no deaths recorded. The tally of total active cases reached 580 with 43 recoveries.
Ahmedabad has reported the highest number of new cases with 20 new Covi-19 cases. It is followed by Vadodara which has 12 new cases. And, Surat has 9 new cases in 24 hours.
Over 2.94 lakh people have been vaccinated making the total above 8.65 crores in the state.
