Gujarat Elections: CM Bhupendra Patel Asks Ministry To Take Up Pending Projects By Oct 15

Recently, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in a cabinet meeting directed ministers and secretaries of various departments to take up and approve all pending projects by October 15. Gujarat state is going to witness an assembly election possibly in the end of the month of November or first half of December. 

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of India is likely to announce the schedule of Gujarat polls by addressing a public gathering in the later half of October, following this the Model Code of Conduct will be effective in the state. Accordingly, The CM has instructed that all departments must be seen taking up the pending projects. 

However, numbers of projects will be starting up in 10 days as the government will not be able to inaugurate these projects after the elections are announced and the Model of Conduct will prevail. 

Yet, in the last days of Navratri, Gujarat witnessed the foundation stone laying and dedication of projects with thousands of crores of rupees. Gujarat CM will launch the 13th phase of Garib Kalyan Meta from Tapi in South Gujarat on 14th October and from Gir Somnath in coastal Saurashtra on 15th October. Gujarat has witnessed total 12 phases of Garib Kalyan Mela, its aid of over RS34,596 crore has been provided to 1.65crore beneficiaries directly through total 1567 Garib Kalyan Mela. Total 37 Garib Kalyan Mela are organised across 33 districts. The districts in-charge ministers and office bearers will be present in the district level programs. 

Following this in last month The Prime Minister aid the foundation stone and dedicated various projects worth more than ₹3400 crores in Surat, these include works for water supply, drainage projects, DREAM City, Biodiversity Park and other development works such as public infrastructure, heritage restoration, city bus / BRTS infrastructure, electric vehicle infrastructure, and joint development works by the central and state government.
