The State Government has appointed retired chief secretary Anil Mukim as the Chairperson of the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC), a statutory body that fixes domestic as well as commercial power tariff.
According to an official notification issued by the State Energy and Petrochemicals Department, the Gujarat Government had constituted a selection committee to recommend suitable names for the post.
The committee recommended a panel of two names and the Gujarat Government decided on the former chief secretary for the key post.
