Saurashtra is known for its hospitality and now, even Gujarat High Court Chief justice Aravind Kumar vouches for it. “People of Saurashtra are known for their warm hospitality and courteousness towards guests,” observed chief justice Aravind Kumar. The state HC was in attendance for a hearing in which senior advocate Babubhai Mangukia was also present.
During a matter call out, the advocate’s name was mentioned. “How does one pronounce your name?” asked the chief justice, to which Babubhai replied, adding that it is a common titular name in Saurashtra.
Thus, Saurashtra was mentioned. While lauding the hospitality of the region, the chief justice also noted that Babubhai’s tireless social service is an exemplary feat.
Babubhai Mangukia is a senior advocate as well as a senior leader of the state Congress. He contested the Thakkarbapanagar Assembly elections in 2017. He has also been a vocal advocate for the Patidars during the reservation movement in Gujarat.
