| Updated: October 26, 2023 11:52

"What happened on Monday, shouldn't have happened. I was wrong. I am sorry for that. We begin a new session. It shouldn't have happened. It's just that, I don't know...I was wrong," Justice Vaishnav said.

New Delhi: Justice Biren Vaishnav of the Gujarat High Court apologised to his puisne judge, Justice Mauna Bhatt in open court on Wednesday (October 25), days after he had an outburst in open court and walked out.

“What happened on Monday, shouldn’t have happened. I was wrong. I am sorry for that. We begin a new session. It shouldn’t have happened. It’s just that, I don’t know…I was wrong,” Justice Vaishnav said in his apology, according to LiveLaw.

On Monday, Justice Vaishnav had openly expressed annoyance after Justice Bhatt reportedly murmured some disagreement to him about a judgment. Then Justice Vaishnav replied, sounding annoyed and in a tone that could be heard, You differ yaar. You have differed in one matter, (so) differ here also.”

“It isn’t a matter of differing…,” Justice Bhatt replied, according to Bar and Bench.

“Then pass a separate order. Do not murmur,”said Justice Vaishnav said. He then left and said the bench wouldn’t be hearing more cases.
