In a joint operation, ATS and SOG caught a manufacturing company that fabricated MD drugs in the name of chemicals. According to officials from the Bharwada police station, they have recovered 225 kilograms of drugs from the factory and have arrested four accused in the case, Mahesh, Rakesh, Dilip, and Vijay.
According to the Superintendent of Police of the Anti-Terrorism Squad, the four people who are in police custody used to make MD drugs and smuggled them to Rajasthan, Goa, and Mumbai. The price of the drugs in international markets is millions of rupees.
Rakesh hails from Gir Somnath district and has a degree in MSc Chemistry. He used to work in the medical industry since 2011. Rakesh and Vijay started making drugs in liquid form under the banner of the chemical factory, Nectar Camp. Later, they made drugs in powder form.
As per the sources, ATS has seized 13 boxes loaded with drugs from the company. The police grew suspicious when the company refused to provide labour work to the youth from the neighbouring areas saying that the work was dangerous. The neighbouring villagers have also complained about the suspicious smell coming from the factory unit.
ATS is currently investigating the case. They are probing whether this is the only isolated unit where the manufacturing of toxic substances was taking place.
