Gujarat Police Nabs NEET Paper Leak Accused From Bihar

Vibhor Anand, an accused in the NEET Paper leak scam, is finally under police net. A team of Godhra taluka police detained the accused from Darbhanga in Bihar. He was hiding at his in-law’s place.

Vibhor Anand, a native of Bihar, is residing in Vadodara, Gujarat. He called himself a consultant. During the ongoing investigation into the NEET paper leak, the name of Vibhor Anand came up.

The police were in hot pursuit to nab him. They unsuccessfully raided his known Vadodara residence situated near Maneja crossing in Makarpura area of Vadodara and his native place at Lakhisarai in Bihar.

During the investigation, it was transpired that the accused Vibhor Anand was instrument in bringing students in this conspiracy. Further investigation is on.

Earlier, the police arrested two accused, namely Tushar Bhatt and Arif Vora. Thanks human imputs and technical surveillance , police was able to nab the two accused from Banswara in Rajasthan. Both had been absconding. Police also seizer the car in which they were travelling. After arrest, both the acused were brought to Panchmahal district police chief’s office. During the intense interrogation of them, the name of Vibhor Anand came up.

In February 2023, the Gujarat assembly unanimously passed a bill to check paper leak in government recruitment examinations with a significant modification pointed out by then senior Congress legislator Arjun Modhwadia. The new law has a stipulation of ten years of imprisonment and minimum one crore of penalty for those involved in the act of leaking papers.

Gujarat has seen a spate of paper leaks in recent years. The regularity with which the paper leaks happened in Gujarat even managed to provide apolitical relevance to young crusader Yuvrajsinh Jadeja. The youth of Gujarat, disillusioned with the paper leaks crated huge uproar which made political establishment of all hues to take notice of it.
