Gujarat has been continuously witnessing a surge in daily Covid-19 cases. With a total of 1128 positive cases on Friday, it was for the second consecutive day that the state reported more than 1100 Covid-19 cases in a single day.
Meanwhile, Ahemdabad reported a total of 391 fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday with three deaths. The city was followed by Vadodara with 121 positive cases, Mehsana with 151, Surat city with 64, Gandhinagar with 51 and Kutch with 37 cases in the last 24 hours on Friday.
With a total of 902 Covid-19 patients recovering from the infection, the active caseload on the state reached 6,218. The death toll in the state stood at 10,968 on Friday.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, over 5.73 lakh doses were administered in the state in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of vaccinated population reached over 11.55 crore.
