Gujarat Registers 632 New Covid-19 Cases In Last 24 Hours; Ahmedabad Reports 262

In a continuing upward trend of daily cases in Gujarat, the state registered a total of 632 new Covid-19 cases in last 24 hours on Friday.

This is the highest daily positive cases in Gujarat after around 133 days. Apart from this, the state also reported its first death due to Covid-19 after over 16 days of no deaths from Valsad. This resulted into the total active cases toll to reach at 3,287 cases in the state, with around six patients on the ventilator.

For a no change in the trend, Ahmedabad on Friday too reported a highest of 262 (258 from city and 4 from rural) fresh Covid-19 cases out of total 632 cases in Gujarat. With this, the active caseload in the city has reached to 1,419 in last 24 hours. With 1,089 positive cases, Ahmedabad has reported over a thousand Covid-19 cases in last five days only.

Followed by Ahmedabad, Surat registered 103 new cases with 85 in city and 18 in the rural areas. Vadodara reported a total of 46 new Covid-19 cases, Gandhinagar reported 43, Valsad 33, Mehsana 30, Rajkot 21, Navsari 18, Kutch 14, Patan 11 and Bhavnagar reported 10 cases in last 24 hours.

Apart from this the districts which registered the fresh cases in single digits include Devbhumi Dwarka with seven, Sabarkantha six, Bharuch five, Anand, Jamnagar, Morbi with four cases each, Amreli, Surendranagar, Kheda with two each and Somnath, Panchmahal, Tapi with one case each in last 24 hours.

Before around seven days, Gujarat reported a total of 380 new cases, which shows an increase of around 65 per cent in just one week.

According to Health and Family Welfare Department of Gujarat, the total numbers of vaccinated people in the state reached 11.14 crore on Friday after 48,047 people got vaccinated in the last 24 hours. Also, 20,166 people got their precaution dose on Friday with the total number of population with three doses reached 20,166 in the state.
