Gujarat Reprorts 1,012 New Covid-19 Cases, Two Deaths In Last 24 Hours

Gujarat reported a total of 1,012 fresh covid-19 cases on Saturday after witnessing over 1,100 cases for two consecutive days on Thursday and Friday with 1,101 and 1,128 positive cases respectively.

The state on Thursday registered a highest number of daily cases near after four months. It was on February 14, 2022 that the state recorded a total of 1,040 daily positive cases.

Ahmedabad, in a no change, reported a highest of 320 new cases on Saturday. The city was followed by Vadodara with 123, Mehsana with 99, Surat 75 and Kutch 52 positive cases in the last 24 hours.

Apart from this, Ahmedabad reported deaths of two Covid-19 patients in the last 24 hours and with this, the death toll in the state stood at 10,970 on Saturday. Also, as many as 954 patients recovered from covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of total recovered patients in the state to 12,36,985.

At present, total number of active cases in Gujarat stand at 6,274 on Saturday. The total positive cases in the state have reached 12,54,229 so far.

According to the Health and Family Welfare Department of Gujarat, the state administered over 6.47 crore vaccination doses against covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The number of total vaccinated population in the state stood at 11.62 on Saturday.
