In a recent robbery case on September 4, 2022, a 33-year-old man from Ahmedabad’s Motera area was robbed by three motorcycle-borne men at gun-point. These men slashed his knees after robbing him of INR 39,000.
The restaurant owner of Karnavati Club and resident of Sangath apartment, Ruchik Dave filed a complaint on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Chandkheda police station regarding the case of robbery and abetment against three unknown men.
He stated in his First Information Report, “This incident took place while I was returning home.”
At the time of the incident, Ruchik was holding an amount of INR 25,500 cash, which he was supposed to deposit at a Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) centre on Koteshwar road in Motera area, but the machine failed to work.
While returning home, three men on a motorbike chased him and forced him to stop in the middle of the road.
The three men slashed his knees and took away all the money he had, his cell phone worth INR 14,000 and the debit card.
Stating the incident in his report, Dave said, “I was attacked with the revolver’s butt. Then they (accused) pointed the gun towards me to carry out the robbery. They threw away the keys of my motorbike.”
After sustaining serious injuries, Dave went to a local clinic for his primary treatment.
Initially, refraining from filing a complaint, a similar incident that had happened in Chandkheda, where a 55-year-old man named Anand Sharma was robbed by three-motorcyclists, compelled him to file a case against the accused.
