Gujarat: School In Jetpur Village Run By Only One Teacher

| Updated: December 27, 2021 21:31

Most of the veteran leaders of the BJP come from Jetpur. They have come across the matter that the future of the forgotten people of Charan Samadhiyala village of Jetpur taluka is being tampered with. It has been found that students have been taught by the same teacher for years in the Charan Samadhiyala Primary School here.

The future of the children of Charan Samadhiyala, Jetpur is in grave danger. There are no teachers in the government school in the village except for one teacher who has been teaching the students for years.

The principal of this school is also retiring on December 31, 2021, as he opted for voluntary retirement. The news of his retirement makes little to no difference since the principal of this school is often on leave due to illness, the academic work is being done by a single teacher. According to the principal, the school has had only two staff members for the last five years.

At present a total of 86 students are studying in grades I to VIII in this school. The teacher of this school said that the future of the students is looking bleak due to the lack of teachers and the problems have not been resolved even though they had earlier made representations to the Taluka Primary Education Officer and the Gram Panchayat.

The villagers were also expressing their grief over the incident of teachers in the school. Local leader, Pankajbhai Parmar said that while they have already talked about the issue with Taluka Development Officer and Taluka Education Officer, it seems that these government officials are not helping them on the account of it not being under their jurisdiction. He also said that in the near future, if the staff of teachers in this government primary school is not provided as per the establishment of the school, the people of the village also threatened to close down the school.

It may be mentioned that when veteran BJP leaders like Gujarat Pradesh Youth BJP president Prashant Korat, former cabinet minister and current MLA Jayesh Radadia and Rajkot district BJP president Mansukh Khacharia come from Jetpur but the leaders do not look back onto their own village.
