On January 26, Gujarat will celebrate the 74th Republic Day with a state event scheduled in the Botad district, marking the first time such an occasion will be held in the district. CM Patel will take part in various celebration events and preside over the main flag-hoisting ceremony.
The state functions to mark Independence Day and Republic Day are held at different district headquarters, continuing a tradition started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi while he was chief minister. As a result, Botad will host the state event this year. Accordingly, this year, the state function will be held at Botad.
Meanwhile, on January 25th CM Bhupendra Patel will reach Botad. Apart from inaugurating various developmental works, he will also release two coffee-table books on Botad district, one on religious places and another on the district itself. The chief minister will also attend a cultural programme on January 25.
However, Gujarat celebrated 73rd Republic Day with covid protocols, which was held at Somnath in Gir Somnath district of Saurashtra. The state level function was held in Somnath, a historic location in Saurashtra’s Gir Somnath district. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unfurled the tricolour amid rose petal showers from Air Force helicopters.
However, the main attractions of the impressive march past were Gujarat Jail Police platoon, Marine Commando platoon, and Junagadh women police platoon. The horse and dog show remained the main attraction. Also, CM Patel honoured Yog Specialist Divyang girl and Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar winner Anvi Zanzrukia on this occasion.
